FIND HOPE
“There are seldom, if ever, any hopeless situations, but there are many people who lose hope in the face of some situations.”
– Zig Zigler
Hope – and the dream of an authentic life. You’ve started the internal excavation of all that is the True you. You’re ready to take some action, and then there it is that voice that says, “You can’t do that. You’re stuck where you are. You have obligations.” You may want to say to yourself, “Other people can change their life and have their dreams come true, but I can’t. It’s not in the cards for me.” Don’t say it! You know that phrase, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans?” Well, life will always happen. So maybe you do have responsibilities and obligations. Maybe you do have bills and a family, and the way you fulfill those obligations and responsibilities is with the paycheck you receive from that unchallenging and unfulfilling job you currently have. But, as Zig Zigler cautions us, “there are seldom, if ever, any hopeless situations.” So it’s up to you to not lose hope. There is always some action that can be taken, however small, if you quiet that negative voice in your mind and listen to your Truth. What does it hurt to work on a really amazing resume? What about your social networking skills or social network contacts? Build on the assets that employers in your field will be looking for. Get relevant accreditations, attend networking events, or look for new challenges at your old job knowing that it’s all temporary. Find a qualified Career Coach to help you set a course of action.
We all have thought at one time or another that we had limited options. But those limits are limits we placed on ourselves. Again, “there are seldom, if ever, any hopeless situations…” Our response to a situation determines whether we maintain hope or not. If we want to find our True selves, we cannot do it without hope. What action can you take today to help you keep hope alive?
